Table of Contents

1. The Map of Consciousness Explained – David R. Hawkins

Best for someone who wants to live a fuller and happier life holistically

According to this review, this is No. 1 of the best spiritual books. Dr. David R. Hawkins is one of my favourites, as he explains everything quickly, and the information sinks in.

The book outlines a path of self-improvement that leads to freedom from stress from within or outside influences. Some people consider the book a life-improvement philosophy.

It is a fantastic book that helps you better understand yourself, others, and the world based on your levels of consciousness. The Map of Consciousness Explained also points out the ultimate goal of human existence: inner peace and love.

Many people consider the book as e a tool to calibrate modern-day political, social and cultural trends by providing a spiritual yardstick, rather like a KPI or critical spiritual performance indicator

Clearly explained, this book reveals our spiritual evolution.

The Map of Consciousness Explained is a compilation of Dr. David R. Hawkins’ lectures on human consciousness and its associated energy fields. It aligns with spiritual expansion and includes a practical collection of exercises.

An enriching collection of practical exercises and affirmations designed to awaken and energize your consciousness. Visual charts are also very helpful.

However, not all scientists agree with Hawkins’ theory presented in the book, which  is clinically sophisticated in its depiction of each level’s emotional tone, view of God, and view of life

Also, The Map of Consciousness Explained is not very convenient to read—it is a voluminous book bound tightly, which makes it uncomfortable to hold. Try Kindle or audio, then.

Some even state that David Hawkins plagiarized his ‘trademarked’ Map of Consciousness from L Ron Hubbard via Lester Levinson.

PROS

  • practical exercises
  • helps with a better understanding of one’s life
  • great for both beginners and advanced learners of spiritual growth

CONS

  • the paperback version is a bit difficult format to read
  • accuse of plagiarism
  • muscle test is a clinically complicated tool

2. Change Yourself, Change the World – Atousa Raissyan

best For someone intending to transform their life holistically and grow.

Change Yourself, Change the World is rated as the second-best spiritual book. It provides guidance and tools for shifting from fear to love.

You learn to apply spiritual values, such as releasing and forgiving the past and loving and accepting yourself, your life, and the lives of those co-creating with you.

The book has amazing artwork and is an inspiring example of a profound journey from fear to love. It illuminates a path to personal transformation that is both enlightening and empowering.

Atossa Raissyan writes in easy-to-follow language and applies the wisdom presented in her book. This transformative masterpiece can shift perspectives, ignite inner change, and pave the way for a more meaningful and love-filled existence.

The book is authentic and based on the author’s life experience.

We must face up to the parts of ourselves that we pretend not to know about or do not like and understand our responsibility.

Critical voices about this book state that the author has a different cultural background, so the teachings cannot be applied in the Western world.

The teachings are not easy for a beginner to digest.

PROS

  • authentic teachings,
  • practical exercises,
  • life-transforming

CONS

  • unsuitable in all cultural backgrounds,
  • difficult to apply for a beginner,

3. Connecting with the Angels Made Easy – Kyle Grey

Best for someone interested in connection with angels

The No. 3 of the best spiritual books is informative about everything you need to know about connecting with angels and learning to receive their messages. It is very educational and inspiring, and it is also very readable.

This book contains some practical exercises for connecting with angels.

However, connection with spiritual beings is only a part of your growth. To evolve and understand the process, you need more books, e.g. Kyle Gray’s Raise Your Vibrations (not included in this review).

Connecting with angels requires time, patience, and an open mind, so the book is unsuitable for someone seeking quick-fix solutions.

PROS

  • has great readability,
  • has practical exercises,
  • is very educational and inspiring.

CONS

  • more books have to be read for fuller growth,
  • long-term work.

4. The Power of Now – Eckhart Tolle

It is best for anyone seeking understanding and meaning in their life.

According to this review, The Power of Now is the fourth best spiritual book. It makes you think and is full of wisdom, applicable when you’re ready to implement it.

The Power of Now explains how thinking can introduce needless pain and suffering and how living in the present can reduce this.

You must be ready to give up your old self, thinking patterns, and ego. You have to be done and tired of it.

Readers find the book insightful, practical, and awakening. Some say it helps them discover their inner selves, improve their quality of life, and understand meditation.

At the same time, it is extremely hard to describe who we are as humans if we are out of thought.

Furthermore, you have to be ready for what this book has to offer – otherwise you may hate it,

The book does not offer practical exercises, just a general idea of what to do.

Readers also think it could have been reduced to half its current size because it repeats the same messages, which can become irritable and dull.

PROS

  • opens spiritual horizons,
  • portable format,
  • full of wisdom applicable in any area of life.

CONS

  • repetitive ideas,
  • unsuitable for people not ready for the concept of ego,
  • no practical exercises, only general ideas.

5. Assumptions Harden Into Facts – Neville Goddard

Best for someone who wants to create a better life and go beyond the Law of Attraction

This is the fifth of the best spiritual books here. Neville Goddard explains, in a practical way, what The Law of Assumption is. When you understand this law, you can shape your reality more effectively.

This is a great motivational book, full of success stories and inspiration. Neville Goddard broadens your horizons and teaches applicable spirituality.

Some people also state that the Law of Assumption is superior to the Law of Attraction.

However, there are also some critical voices. The book offers the mastery of one particular universal law, which is not enough to create a happy, fulfilled life.

Some people also state that the law of assumption is not accurate. Some even consider Goddard’s teachings sophistry from a charlatan.

The book is unsuitable for people who operate only on the mental level of growth.

PROS

  • boradens spiritual horizons
  • great motivational book,
  • Goddard is an expert in the law of Assumption.

CONS

  • some consider the Law of Assumption as not accurate,
  • requires an open mind,
  • The law of Assumption is only one of the universal laws.

6 The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success – Deepak Chopra

Best for beginners on the spiritual journey

I recommend this to anyone other than those who agree with some critical voices mentioned below, even if it is placed as No. 6 of the best spiritual books in this review.

The book is known for outstanding readability and is not lengthy; the content is up to a point.

It clearly outlined how to tap into the laws of the universe to receive what you need out of life—more simply and understandably than other authors (some of whom are presented in this review).

Deepak Chopra offers a complete reference guide designed to discipline the reader toward achieving success. The Seven Spiritual Laws is an excellent example of contemporary self-help writing.

However, the book covers many topics and differing thoughts/opinions, so you can get lost while digesting all of them. Furthermore, some people consider The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success as too short and not profound enough.

Critics also argue that the mindset promoted by Chopra could potentially lead people to overlook the importance of hard work, goal-setting, and practical strategies in achieving success.

One common criticism of the book is that it is too simplistic and lacks practicality as it ” promotes a “magical thinking” mentality, where success and abundance are seen as simply a matter of aligning oneself with the universe and following specific spiritual laws.

Another objection is the focus on individual success and personal fulfilment, which is a “selfish and individualistic mindset that neglects the importance of community, social responsibility, and ethical behaviour”.

PROS

  • teaches discipline,
  • comprehensive and resourceful,
  • great readability.

CONS

  • too many life aspects are presented in one go
  • too simplistic,
  • teaches selfishness and an individualistic mindset.

7. Transurfing in 78 days – Vadim Zeland

Best for someone who wants to create a better life according to spiritual rules

The seventh of the best books in this review presents a unique worldview that blends concepts from quantum

I found it a practical course divided into 78 lessons, which is very helpful for digesting its wisdom. The book is easy to read and not too voluminous.

Reality Transurfing by Vadim Zeland is a fascinating and unconventional book that has garnered a significant following, particularly in the realms of metaphysics and personal development.

It presents a unique worldview that blends concepts from quantum physics, esotericism, and psychology into a system aimed at helping individuals achieve their desired reality.

At each moment in time, you will learn how to make the numerous decisions that will help you achieve your goals most effectively and create a reality in alignment with the kinds of events that you decide do or do not have a place in your life

Reading the first couple of chapters of Reality Transurfing and then going through this book, you are better prepared to digest the original extended version.

It’s simple and straightforward, and the more you read it, the deeper you go. Many people I have talked to about the book have it on a continual read loop, and the insights grow each time.

Critics consider this book a “heavy hitter.” It’s incredibly dense with philosophical, semi-spiritual/mystical concepts that are incredibly hard for people on some consciousness level to grasp. It may be too dull or too challenging to apply.

Some people find Reality Transurfing boring after reading it halfway through, and they seek more challenging content (this review provides some examples).

PROS

  • helps with making decisions,
  • fascinating and unconventional,
  • practical lessons.
  • not too lengthy
  • great readability

CONS

  • boring for some people,
  • dense and challenging to apply at some levels of consciousness,
  • requires a against-the-grain attitude, which means social alienation.

8. Journey of the Souls – Michael Newton

It is best for someone who wants to broaden the horizons of spirituality beyond religion.

Journey Of The Souls is an excellent choice during challenging times like bereavement or breakup. You learn that it is not a loss or disaster.

It is also a life-changing book. You start to appreciate every moment on this planet and the impact of other beings on your life, even if their impact brings/brought some discomfort and pain.

The author shows the spiritual aspect of life from a scientific point of view, and his perspective is not conceptual or vague. The 29 case studies presented in the book give clear-cut answers to some challenging questions, e.g., What is after death?

The author of Jurney’ Of The Souls has a broad community that can help you understand the concept of his book and find more answers to complex questions.

Newton does not put any suggestions in your mind; he guides you safely through life’s challenges.

After reading the book, you will better understand the immortality of the human soul. This will help you meet daily challenges with a greater sense of purpose and higher vibration.

However, some people don’t consider these cases reliable from a scientific point of view. They treat them as anecdotes, not facts.

Also, the book is not suitable for beginners, or people stuck in the concept of one life. You do need to have an open mind and a broader consciousness—experience these things yourself.

People looking for practical exercise also find this book unsuitable; it is suitable for understanding the concept of reincarnation and spirituality, though.

PROS

  • broadens perspective in a non-judgmental way
  • helps during bereavement
  • clear case studies based on scientific research

CONS

  • unsuitable for people believing in the one-life concept
  • some people consider it as a collection of anecdotes, not facts,
  • unsuitable for the beginners

Buysr’s guide
