Many books have shown that some emotions are “negative” or “low vibrational.” Some people also attribute emotions to ego.

I am aware that the emotions discussed today can have negative consequences and imply scarcity, attachment, and control (the attitudes represented by the ego). However, everything cuts both ways.

Hence, I would like to show you today what positive aspects can be found in the eight so-called ego-driven emotions.

I have to point out that the lessons might not be pleasant, and they imply taking action to implement the “knowledge”.

Eight emotional states can be unpleasant and destructive and put you under other beings’ control… This is David Hawkins’ ladder of consciousness, adopted by many different spiritual and self-help teachers.

Anthony Robbins, in turn, distinguishes ten emotional states (e.g. loneliness, overwhelm, and low self-esteem will not be discussed here). Most of them overlap Hawkin’s ones. To be clear, I will stick to Hawkins’ set of emotions, but both are equally important.

Let’s then start with shame, the emotion causing dramatic, extreme suffering, also called “hell”.
