Firstly, emotional intensity can be good if you want to let go of the baggage, cumulated in your body and causing illnesses. We are afraid of pain but sometimes strong emotions are necessary to clear up the negative baggage and move forward. Just do it wisely and the case of very strong emotions,
Secondly, self-responsibility is applied to aby techniques and to totally grow up, you need to be responsible for your life. Hoping that someone will fix your problems is an illusion. As you know, you can bring the horse to the water but you will not force it to drink it.
And finally, professional help will never work on its own now, it can fix the issue by treatment, mostly by administration of tablets. However, it will rarely truly cure and solve the root of the problem.
Therefore, even if the emotional freedom technique is not officially a tool used by academic medicine, this tool is indispensable to full recovery in the long run and for good, if you look at health holistically.
However, the choice is yours. The only thing I can point out here is to consult a professional if you are afraid of the impact of applying the emotional freedom technique on your well-being.
